John McCreary was a musical force of nature. During his five decades in Hawai‘i, he served as Organist/Choirmaster and Canon Emeritus at St. Andrew’s Cathedral, taught music at ‘Iolani School and St. Andrew’s Priory, built an enormous theater organ for his home, and helped to launch the musical careers of some of Hawai‘i’s most enduring performers. Most notably, he left a prodigious legacy of magnificent compositions and arrangements. Come join us in song as we celebrate the 10th anniversary of his passing with a special musical extravaganza in his honor at St. Andrew’s Cathedral on Sunday, March 5 at 5:00, with a rehearsal on Saturday, March 4, featuring some of his most beloved compositions and arrangements, including his fantastic, full orchestral rendition of “Rubber Ducky!”
