Ever since the old “Colbert Report” folded up the tent (no longer on the DVR) and Stephen moved to the “Late Show” (a regular on the DVR) the Blogmeisters rarely miss the show. I’m a big fan of satire and his interviews are not the same “tell me about your new movie” fluff. The other night he was interviewing Yvette Nicole Brown, an actress on many a show, and they discussed a non-profit that they both sit on the Board of.
I’ve been on the Boards of and Chaired events for quite a few non-profits, but Donors Choose is like nothing I’ve ever seen before. I don’t usually do commercials in the blog, but this is worth it. Their mission: “We make it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need, moving us closer to a nation where students in every community have the tools and experiences they need for a great education.” They receive and vet teacher requests for anything from school supplies to chairs, from computer accessories to crayons. You can search by classroom subject matter, location, resource type, age group and more to donate where and what is important to you.
Check it out, Blogmeister gives it 5 stars.
